Although the first two answers are good as far as they go, the free photo edit softwareactual answer to your question is NO. This is because a .jpg is a single layer. .jpg format does not support layers, so there is only that single layer. If you attempt to remove an object in a .jpg image, all you are doing is removing pixel information; therfree photo edit softwaree is nothing under the image. So you will end up with a "hole" in your image. Once an image is saved as a .jpg there is no way to restore the layers to the file.
